Ever wonder what the beach looks like when it's not summer vacation time? Look at this beautiful Lake Michigan beach in winter; no tourists, no swimmers, no suntan lotion, no sunburns and no picnic foods. But it's still beautiful, isn't it? The beach grass is dormant now, covered with snow and ice. The waves are just as beautiful- bigger perhaps. The sand is still sandy and the wind is still blowing. How many other things do we associate with only one season? The beauty of God's creation knows no boundaries- including seasons.

Oooh, I LOVE the beach in winter! It's my favorite time to visit. This East Coast gal has been away from the water TOO LONG! LOL

I took the kids down to Rocky Gap Beach here a little while back. It's our favorite beach to go to in the summer because it lives up to its name - lots of rocks!

This was the first time we'd gone there in the winter, though, and it was so neat! The best thing was that no one else had been there to find all of the great beach glass. We found a ton of it that day in all sorts of colors. :o)

I'm glad you posted about that... it's inspiring me to go down there again soon. But.... I think I'll wait until it's above zero around here. ;o)

Love you!

Oh my goodness Jane Claire, I just love this photo! I too live near the beach, but never have I seen a beach like that, as our winters are very mild. I'm really enjoying your nature blog, and look forward to seeing it grow! Have a lovely day sweetie!
